Ingredients
- 3 leaves dinosaur kale (ribs removed)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime's worth)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons mandarin orange juice (about 1/2 orange's worth)
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/8 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed
- 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup (or agave nectar)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/8 cup mezcal
- 1 cup large ice cubes
- 1 jalapeno slice (optional garnish)
- 1 baby kale leaf (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Combine dinosaur kale, lime juice, mandarin orange juice, minced ginger, jalapeno pepper, maple syrup, and water in a blender.
- Blend on low for 20 seconds, then on high for 40 seconds until the texture is consistent. Use a scraper to push the ingredients down toward the blade if necessary, and gradually add water if needed.
- Transfer the blended mixture to a cocktail shaker, then add mezcal and ice.
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
- Pour the mixture into a serving glass without straining out the ice.
- Serve immediately.
