Ingredients

  • 6 oz. fresh apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 thin slice fresh ginger root
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1.50 oz. dry sherry
  • 1 oz. apple brandy

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over high heat, combine the apple cider, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Stir well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and pour the mixture into a heatproof glass or mug, placing the cinnamon stick in the glass.
  4. Top the glass with sherry and apple brandy. Serve hot.
