This classic cocktail, originally known as the New Orleans Fizz, was created by Henry C. Ramos and was a signature drink at his Imperial Cabinet Saloon. Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Plymouth Gin
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • 1 oz. chilled soda water
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 medium egg white
  • 3 dashes orange-flower water
  • 1 dash vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients except the soda water.
  2. Use a Hawthorne strainer spring to help whip the ingredients.
  3. Vigorously shake the mixture for 5 minutes.
  4. Add ice to the shaker and shake for another minute.
  5. Pour the soda water into a chilled narrow highball glass.
  6. Slowly strain the shaken drink into the glass on top of the soda, continuing until the foam rises about an inch above the glass.
  7. Alternatively, use a stick blender to whisk the ingredients, then follow the remaining steps.
